Some great keynotes
– Vinod Dham spoke about the enthusiasm in indian entrepreneurs. I think the highlight was outlining how the Nevis announcement illustrates the high quality of work that can be done in India – coming from Vinod, people listen
– Dr Bala Manian – my pick of the day – serially successful entrepreneur in life sciences – easily the sharpest view I have heard of the potential of low cost labour – rather than taking the process and applying low cost labour, turn it on its head so that the process is designed with the fundamental assumption of labour efficiency (including tradeoffs of labour with other factors of production) – I’ll bet on this guy, easily the pick
– Pramod Bhasin talked about moving up the value chain
– Kiran Shaw started with an introduction to biotech, and that’s when I left
- Promoters or Entrepreneurs – A choice for Private Equity players - August 3, 2019
- Startup Marathon Mindset - March 25, 2019
- What’s your Customer Culture? - March 4, 2019
I attended TIECON and the enthusiasm reminded me off the heady atmosphere of the Silicon Valley dot com boom days. There are just so many growth possibilities that people talked about that I remain very optimistic. I think at present the self confidence in Indian entrepreneurs to take on the world is building up. Vinod Dham talked of a 170 person company in Pune which has built an ASIC with 180 million transistors on it and so on….
Kiran Shaw talked about how the Biotech sector could become a $50 billion industry from $5 billion today and how the roadblocks were being removed though the pace was a bit slower than she liked.
The negatives of infrastructure hampering manufacturing were talked about and the need to create millions of jobs for Indias youth. Some of these have to be tackled by the government beacuse the politics does not allow the private sector in but “social entrepreneurship” may help solve others. I am trying to catalyze something big in the “social entrepreneurship” area but I thing that may take a while.
good Post!
will check with tie if can get it organised – I agree that this line of thought has great potetial, and it seems Dr Bala has already tread some way on this…
Where do we get more details on each of these distinguished talk? Labour efficiency factor is though provoking and its application may lead to some disruptive process.
good to see a live coverage of TiECON. its like having your own representative at the conference.
