In GISIL as we look at our people needs we think we need a mix of fresh and experienced people. At the premier management campuses you have experienced as well as fresh people. In the engineering campuses most of the people would have no work experience.
I may in the next few weeks talk at various campuses ( where I am invited) on joining startups from campus. This may help us fill a few positions that we have at GISIL but the objective is much broader than GISIL. It is to try to get some people in campuses to think of joining startups and for startups which have exciting growth plans to be able to find talent from campuses.
If there are any exciting startups that may be looking for campus talent they can give me an email where interested students can contact them. The best way would be for them to comment on this post.
At GISIL we have limited openings for IIM types ( they have mostly got filled. Madhu is one of those joining us from IIM – A) . Most of our openings will be for engineers who are interested in building scalable transaction platforms. We will be revamping our website by the end of February which will give more detail. Those interested in GISIL please email sneh@gisil.com.

hi,
idea of joining a startup has really started enticing people. i represent a startup based out of pune by the name Aviz Software. we work in the area of Advance data visualisation and developed 3 products over the time. now we are in need of people who will take this products to markets. so basically we are loking for marketing & sales talent as well as people who are passionate about developing products sitting in India & not the ones who get lured by onsite job. those who are interested in such profiles can get in touch with me – prasad@avizsoft.com
We would certainly be interesting in some smart heads. We are a company based out of IIT-M working on the VoIP/IMS Domain. Do keep me posted if you bump into anyone who might be interested.
This is certainly a great effort. It is disheartening sometimes to see how so many talented people think that only companies like infosys and wipro are worth it, whereas its exactly the opposite, where you get the chance to grow tenfold if you are in a startup environment where the ecosystem is much more dynamic.
Good luck!
Sa,
Not sure I understand what your beef is. Could be several things. If you want me to respond you will have to elaborate a bit more.
“It is to try to get some people in campuses to think of joining startups and for startups which have exciting growth plans to be able to find talent from campuses.”
That’s an excellent thought, two-half years ago I was dying to get into a startup and spent a lot of months hunting for them but could find no related information.Initiatives like this will be extermely beneficial
Btw If you are looking for to visit some engineering talent, I can put you in touch with my alma mater IIIT-H (www.iiit.net) where you can find some excellent engineering talent in the country.
As is the case with students in other technology insitutes most of students go to big companies but many of them are quite enthusiastic about the idea of startups but they face the classic problem of not having much information about startups.
If it fits your schedule it would be great to have you at the IIIT campus talk to students.
