I was under the distinct impression that this post is for inviting support for Minglebox. It seems that there are a few people who have their qualms about web 2.0 and why too many people are making money.
If you are concerned about products never getting out of beta, then just don’t use them 🙂 Sometimes, its as simple as that.
Kavita, It is a valid point as to what you guys are working on. Web 2.0, Telco 2.0, TV 2.0 and even IMS, are the same things from different perspectives and there are a lot of perspectives. I am sure you will get some very specific folks, once you narrow it down to what you are targetting on.
My mentor used to say that, when you have figured out how to share your ideas without spilling everything, then you’ve really gotten your sales pitch right 🙂
Good luck in everything Kavita. Keep in touch. I look forward to our meeting.
Hi
Am also curious as to what mingle box is doing. Beta, alpha I think are all really gimmicks, I think google killed the meaning of Beta, since its mail has been in Beta for the longest time.
In web 2.0 Beta is supposed to be a key stage in launch, since the new wave of internet apps is all about “get it out the door” ASAP, and then develop on the fly, eg Flickr release a new release every 30mins live on the site.
Having said this, this is all in web 1.0 also, The aol webmaster is pretty famed for saying that “they build it just good enough” , too many comps spend too much time getting it perfect and forget that the internet on one side is a great tool and gives great opps, but it also allows your competitors to copy ur idea in nxt to know time, these days 6mnths b4 someone steals your idea….and if no one steals it…then its usually no good 🙂
This fast launch is causing a few techies to pull their hair out, especially those who like more formal development strategies…

All the very best….!

this description is very braod and all emcompassing .their webpage is protected by password . i think they are in “Stealth” mode . is it ?
one thing i am unable to understand about all of the web 2.0 companies is their life cycle . Stealth mode ,private alpha ,(eternal ) Public beta nad (possibly ) Release etc .
are they just a fad or there is any bottomline gain which can be drawn out from these seemingly new trends ??
please educate.
