Redherring has an interesting article on Google’s potental M&A plans in India.
It is interesting to contrast Google’s acquisitions from Yahoo’s. Google has tended to acquire early and for technology, not for communities. Also, Google is totally focussed on stuff that can add to their advertiser business, unlike Yahoo which is also interested in ecommerce etc.

Google & yahoo are kind of workin on diff strategies ..atleast it seems so …….
Google’s aimin at delivering more n more desktop applications through browser…..for ex they acquired writely online ajax based word processor….. .
this acquisition also fueled talks of a Google Office suite of services,(google lanched Google Spreadsheets and Google Calender). A Google Drive for online storage has long been rumored to be just around the corner and analysts at Gartner have predicted that a Google PowerPoint type service will be released…………..
More over ….their fight seems to be more aligned with Microsoft …..esp on online storage market ….where two big projects are da talk of the tinsel town …GDrive and windows live Drive project …..
However yahoo ..is tryin to dominate the content….more n mre acqusitions aimin at addin more services/content n hence enriching their yahoo users exp ……..
