As part of its Mobile VAS Connect event on December 12, 2006, Venture Intelligence is providing opportunity to select companies to showcase their technology products to an exclusive audience – consisting of Venture Capitalists, Investment Bankers and experienced entrepreneurs – in the form of demos.
Companies that have developed a technology product in-house AND are planning to seek VC funding within the next 12 months are welcome to apply to demo at this exclusive event. More information is available at http://www.ventureintelligence.in/demo.htm
(Please Note: There is NO FEE to apply or demo at this event.)
Do forward this message to any product companies that you think might be interested.
Thanks & Regards

Animesh,
We are certainly looking for volunteers who could help us out with Proto, as instead of a VC community organizing the event, this is an event from the grassroots level, and it is mostly fueled by passionate technologists like yourself and myself.
let me know if you want to contribute. Write to vijay (at) vijayanand.name
Yeah, its a sad fact, but at the same time there is a glimmer of hope. I’ve gotten some very interesting profiles responding to that post and wanting to be involved. There is lots of hope for growth…

Sounds awesome. I think proto.in has promise if done in the right way, and according to the initial buzz all around and given the right people involved it should be a cracking event.
All the Best, and I hope my entries make it to the final round.

P.S. I had seen your post on Linux Bangalore Jobs and was even tempted to apply for it, and read about your take on the responses. The reality is sad.
I am with you Animesh. We are certainly going to be working with companies to make sure that their “pitch” is polished. I personally do know Shel Israel from a close friend,.. maybe I should bring him in and ask us to give us a trial run 🙂 That would be interesting indeed.
This is a step in the right direction. Indian startups need such kind of platforms to get the right audience.
I am not sure but proto.in seems to have the right kind of buildup for a larger event and the MobilVAS Connect might have the right people from the industry. Anyway I would suggest to provide assiatance in preparing for demos, since people like “Shel Israel” who could do magic with demos, are a rarity. That should be quite useful. Less than 1% of the applicants might have attented the demo conference or something similar.

Arun,
It’s good interesting to see events like this getting organized here in India. In fact, the Knowledge Foundation, the team behind Barcamp Chennai and Blogcamp, is organizing an event with the similar theme, covering the entire spectrum of technology under the name Proto.in (www.proto.in) and the updates of the event are blogged at http://www.proto.in/blog.
The dates are set for January 20th and 21st, 2007, in Chennai.
we need to connect sometime, there is definitely information that we could share and collaborate on, to start and keep this momentum going.
