2. Microsoft.NET Developer:

ABOUT US
We are a profitable and growing startup based out of Bangalore. Our expertise cover areas like data mining and search technologies.
We work on a range of technology platforms, but our current focus is primarily on the enterprise Java stack and tools like Solr and Lucene.
We are currently a team of 10 people, but we are growing rapidly and have grand plans for the future while we continue to expand our customer base.
The company is founded by folks with decades of experience in the IT industry after having worked in several successful startups in Silicon Valley as
well as in large organizations like Microsoft.
We are currently looking for a smart, dynamic individual who will fit into the role of a technical architect, a team leader and hands-on
designer / programmer all rolled into one.
a. A minimum of 10 years of experience in the industry, of which with at least 2 to 3 years should have been spent in an architect / design role.
b. Excellent programming, debugging and analytical skills in enterprise Java – Hibernate, Spring, Struts, etc.
c. Experience in machine learning, pattern recognition and tools like Solr and Lucene will be an added advantage.
d. Very good design and architecture definition skills.
e. Quick learner and an excellent ability to explore, employ and leverage new tools, utilities and technologies for use in our development effort.
OTHER REQUIREMENT
Keep in mind that we are a technology startup; we will have intense periods of challenging work and hard deadlines. Therefore, we just don’t want someone
who just writes only good code OR someone who just “manages” people by yelling at them when things are not moving as fast as we want them to.
As in any other startup, the ideal candidate will need to put on many hats depending on the situation. He or she should:
a. Be able to design, architect and provide end-to-end solutions of high quality
b. Be able to communicate clearly and precisely to the customer (excellent communication skills).
c. Lead a team of engineers and mentor, guide, encourage and help them with technical details.
d. Review code written by the team, and on occassions work hands-on on the code base.
e. Effectively engage the customer and give interesting suggestions when such situations arise.
f. Be academically well-qualified with a post-graduate or graduate degree in engineering, preferrably in computer science.
g. Most importantly, understands the “culture” of a startup very well – the challenges, the risks/rewards trade-offs, and the need to work in
an informal, “minimalist” mode without placing undue importance on un-productive frivolities.
This is a day job and not a contract/ freelancing one. If selected, you will be based out of Bangalore. Please note that this is not a “regular” IT job with
opportunities to travel abroad on H1 visas or such (though there COULD be such situations – but your decision to join us should not be based on that assumption).
