Quasar has been kind to share some of the success stories on ESOPs – these employees made about 1 crore each when WPP acquired a majority stake in Quasar. Thanks to Quasar for sharing the same.

Definitely a good thing and kudos to Quasar for making it public.
It would be good to know how much the top guys at Spectranet, Daksh, Marketics etc made after their sale.
On Quasar – on a different mote – what could be the valuation of the company when it was sold to WPP?
Assuming the stock option pool was 10 per cent, and if these seven guys have made Rs 1 crore each, and assuming the rest of the Rs 3 crore have gone to other junior staff, the valuation of the company could be about Rs 100 crore. Not bad for an online ad agency.
whoa!!! media company doing ESOPS! Is this true?
Deepak: it’s the reward for hard work these guys have put in to make Quasar the best and no 1 Online Digital Marketing Group.
So this is just starting. Many milestones to achieve, Guys keep it Up
Siddharth: that’s it? I’d have thunk it was a lot more for a director level post. 1 crore is good in that perspective, and I hope they weren’t giving up like half their salaries for the ESOPs.
My informal chat with a few people says 1 crore is a lot. The idea isn’t to retire with the money, they said. It’s to pay for stuff you’d have to work hard otherwise to pay for – like a house, a car, a european holiday, whatever. They’ll continue to work and thank the ESOP for liberating them from debt and some responsibility.
Therefore the conclusion: I’m just plain greedy. Maybe that’s why I like the founder part of the equation, which seems to get a lot more.
(Manish Vij and Harish Bahl started Quasar so they must’ve got more)
its their vision, confidence and focussed atitude that makes them deserve this glory…the monetory part is just a small bonus, the real achievement is in the vindication of thier belief in each other and the recognistion of thier hard work…
